High Value Shipments
Some pharmaceuticals and chemicals are very valuable. Tucker Company routinely handles high valued shipments. Every carrier we select has an insurance policy in effect. If the value of your freight exceeds the value of the carrier’s insurance policy, or if the carrier’s policy has expired, our computer will not accept the routing. Management has the ability to override this when a customer with very expensive product chooses to self-insure and ship at released value, but only then. As a second line of defense, to the carrier primary policy, Tucker maintains a contingency cargo loss and damage policy.
Hazardous Materials and Post 9/11 Security
Heightened security measures, safety and competitive pricing are more important than ever. Tucker Company safely and effectively handles many hazardous materials including corrosives and flammables. In today’s world, Tucker’s exacting carrier selection standards are vitally important.
We carefully screen and scrutinize carrier documentation including DOT authority, effective insurance policies, safety ratings and hazardous materials certifications for all potential carriers. Only our safest and most reliable carrier partners, with all the proper certifications handle hazardous materials for us. These carriers have been repeatedly tested for performance with other freight, prior to handling any urgent freight or hazardous materials.
