Tucker Joins P3 Program
The Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) is the nation's leading trade association for North American 3PLs, brokers, and intermediaries. As a condition of membership, all TIA members are required to sign and abide by a strict, national "Code of Ethics." The Ethics Committee of TIA arbitrates disputes and ensures that members adhere to the Code of Ethics. TIA adopted the Code of Ethics to promote and maintain high standards of professional service and ethical business conduct among its members.
TIA's Platinum Performance Program (P3) goes further than the standard TIA code of ethics. In order to be approved as a P3 member within the TIA, the P3 candidate must sign and abide by a business "best practices" agreement which covers items such as checking carriers' safety ratings, insurance coverages, and authorities; ensuring correct and timely payment to carriers; checking credit on every prospective customer; proper and written confirmation of service requirements on every shipment; obtaining written contracts with every motor carrier prior to freight movement; loss and damage notification; and many more.
P3 is also open to freight bill audit/payment firms and trucking companies that wish to conduct business using common terms and conditions. P3 brings a new level of trust and performance to broker/forwarder-motor carrier relationship. The result will be reduced costs, increased profits, and improved performance.
