Philadelphia Traffic Club Lauds Tucker

The Philadelphia Traffic Club said that it has named broker's association founding member William Tucker its 2003 Transportation Person of the Year.
The club said it honored Tucker for his lifetime of dedication and service to the transportation industry in the Philadelphia area and nationwide.
Tucker recently announced his retirement after 32 years as president of Tucker Co., a freight management company based in Cherry Hill, NJ, the organization said. He was a founding member of the Transportation Brokers Conference of America, now the Transportation Intermediaries Association, and served on its board for many years the club said.
Tucker took over the family business on the death of his father in 1971 and transformed it from a transactional oriented freight brokerage to a freight managing third-party logistics firm, the Philadelphia group said.
